SubmitLock ("SubmitLock", "we", "us") is provided by RenewalHub SA. This Privacy Policy explains how SubmitLock processes information when a Wix site owner installs and uses the app.
1. Information SubmitLock processes
SubmitLock processes only information needed to provide duplicate-submission protection and administer the app. This may include Wix site or app-instance identifiers, Wix form identifiers and form names, configuration selected by the site owner, the identifier of the selected email field, app-plan information, and Wix form-submission identifiers.
When a visitor submits a protected form, SubmitLock temporarily processes the submitted email address in memory so it can normalize the address and generate a cryptographic fingerprint. SubmitLock is designed not to persist the submitted raw email address in its own app data.
Wix may deliver a form-submission payload containing additional form fields to the app handler as part of the integration. SubmitLock is designed to ignore those unrelated field values and not copy, analyze, log or store them.
2. Cryptographic fingerprints
SubmitLock uses a keyed cryptographic hash (HMAC-SHA256) to create a one-way fingerprint from the protected form, app installation and normalized email address. The fingerprint is used to determine whether the same email address has already submitted that protected form.
The fingerprint is not intended to be used to reconstruct the submitted email address. The secret key used to create the fingerprint is kept server-side and is not exposed to site visitors.
3. How information is used
We use information processed by SubmitLock to:
- provide and enforce duplicate-submission rules configured by the site owner;
- let the site owner reset a fingerprint so an email may submit again;
- keep app configuration and billing entitlements working;
- diagnose technical errors and maintain security.
SubmitLock does not use submitted email addresses for advertising, marketing lists, profiling, or sale of personal information.
4. Where information is processed
The V1 app is designed to use Wix-managed application infrastructure and Wix data storage. SubmitLock does not intentionally send form email addresses or fingerprints to an external analytics provider, AI service, advertising platform, or separate third-party database.
Wix independently processes information under Wix's own terms and privacy practices.
5. Logging
SubmitLock is designed not to include raw submitted email addresses or full form-submission payloads in its application logs. Technical logs may include items such as a form identifier, operation name, error code, rule state and request/correlation identifiers.
6. Retention and deletion
Duplicate-protection fingerprints remain associated with a protected form until they are reset, the corresponding protected submission is deleted where supported by the integration, or the rule is deleted and its related fingerprints are purged.
SubmitLock does not maintain a separate external copy of those fingerprints outside the Wix-managed app implementation described above. If the app is uninstalled, SubmitLock stops processing new submissions. Wix's own platform behavior may govern retention or deletion of app-owned data after uninstall.
7. Site-owner responsibilities
The Wix site owner determines why its forms collect personal information and is responsible for providing any visitor-facing privacy disclosures, lawful basis, consent, or notices required for the site's use of Wix Forms and SubmitLock.
8. Security
SubmitLock uses Wix authentication and HTTPS transport provided through the Wix platform, minimizes stored data, keeps the HMAC secret server-side, and stores a cryptographic fingerprint rather than the submitted raw email address in its duplicate-protection records.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights concerning personal information processed in connection with a Wix site. 10. International and legal compliance
Site owners are responsible for ensuring their use of SubmitLock complies with laws that apply to them, which may include data-protection laws such as South Africa's POPIA, the GDPR, or other local requirements.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be updated when material revisions are published.
