What to include
Include the guard template, validator or condition mode, visible settings/summary, company-managed Jira Cloud workflow editor, app version, expected result and visible error. Prefer a synthetic reproduction. Redact screenshots and logs. Do not send passwords, MFA codes, API tokens, private attachment contents or inaccessible work-item data.
Hidden or blocked transitions
For a hidden transition, review conditions, rule groups and Jira permissions. For a blocked transition, review validators, the failure message, native required fields and missing-data settings. A condition can hide a transition before its validator can show a message. Confirm you published the workflow used by the work item.
Configuration and licenses
Confirm Jira Cloud, company-managed workflows, workflow editing permission and current app installation/license. Refresh and reopen the rule after license or installation changes. The app validates its generated expression before saving. Unsupported configuration versions are preserved rather than overwritten.
Related work and timing
Linked checks use only visible links. If a global dependency requirement matters, all users who may transition the source must be able to browse the relevant dependencies. Attach files before transitioning if the native screen does not make them available at evaluation. Today follows the transitioning user’s Jira calendar date. Sprint checks distinguish current sprint from completed history; unreleased and not archived are separate version properties.
Safe uninstall
- Identify all transitions using Workflow Guard.
- Remove its conditions and validators from all affected workflows.
- Publish changes and verify the transitions.
- Only then uninstall the app. Retained rules can block transitions.
Security reports
Report a suspected vulnerability privately to hello@renewalhub.co.za. Describe the affected app version and a safe reproduction without credentials or confidential Jira content. Do not post sensitive evidence publicly.
