Request and review
The implemented order action lets a team member select refundable items and, where supported, shipping, then review Shopify's suggested refund information. Submission creates a request in the approval queue. The detail page shows the quote, policy checks, decisions and audit trail.
Policy checks
- Configure the refund window and how older requests should be handled.
- Choose checks for shipping refunds and final-sale product tags.
- Set an amount threshold that requires the owner's approval.
- Use requester and approver roles; a requester cannot approve their own request.
Changes and current limits
The workflow rechecks refund information. A changed quote becomes stale and requires another review. These policies apply inside RefundLock and do not block Shopify's native refund tools.
Refund issuance is currently paused while Shopify permission behavior is investigated. Approval functionality in the repository does not mean the app is ready for live refund execution. Public installation is unavailable.
